At Achieve More Training we provide recruitment and training in the Education, Leisure/Fitness and Sport Sectors delivering Traineeships, Apprenticeships and Short Courses.

Achieve More Training provide traineeships, apprenticeships and short courses in the Sport, Leisure and Education Sectors in North Wales and Pembrokeshire.

We advoctes and provide a recruitment service for Employers wanting Apprenticeships, provide work-based learning opportunities and pre-apprentice and short courses from our Professional Learning Centres (PLC) in:
- Wrexham
- Holywell
- Rhyl
- Conwy
- Haverfordwest


Apprentice Recruitment Service

Achieve More Training, working with Ap-Prentis ( advocates for new apprenticeship roles with Employers in the Sport, Lesiure and Education Sectors. Creating new vacancies and managing the whole recruitment and enrolment of the vacancies for the learner and employer to make this a smooth process.

If you choose this option, you will start on a level 2 or level 3 NVQ qualification, be paid a minimum of £130 per week, which increases with time. These qualifications are aimed at learners who prefer to learn whilst gaining 'hands on experience.' The roles available include:

- Sport Coaching Apprentices
- Teaching Assistant Apprentices
- Leisure Apprenticeships
- Fitness Apprenticeships

Pre-Apprentice Courses

For school leavers and young people that need some extra support to before starting a level 2 or 3 apprenticeship role. For example:
- Brushing up on Essential Skills (Maths and English)
- Gaining more confidence
- Gaining more experience
- Support with ALN

Achieve More Training provide a 'Pre-Apprentice' Course at all of our PLC centres in:
- Wrexham
- Holywell
- Rhyl
- Conwy
- Haverfordwest

This is a 20 week programme for 16-18 year olds, including 16 week at your local PLC centre and a 4 week work placement. Each learner will create a personal development plan, to work on the individual areas you need to improve on to gain an apprenticeship by the end of the programme. All learners will:
- Have fun while learning
- Be paid £10 a day to attend
- Travel re-imbursed
- Create Personal Development Plan
- Gain a level 1 qualification.
- Gain 4 week work placement

Short Courses

Achieve More Training also provides 'Short Courses' for anyone over 16 that want to gain vocational qualifications such as:

- Level 1 or 2 in Essential Communication
- Level 1 or 2 in Essential Application of Number
- Level 1 or 2 in Essential Digital Literacy
- Level 1 Assistant Coach
- Level 2 Sport Coach
- Level 2 Gym Instructor
- Level 3 Personal Trainer
- Level 3 Physical Literacy

These courses can be delivered flexibly:

- Blended Learning
- Fully remotely

Matt Hilliker

Matt is one of the directors and set Achieve More Training in 2017. Previously having worked as a coach educator for a number of national governing bodies for the last 10 years. He also has 10 years experience in sport development working for the public sector / local authority / Sport Wales.

Internationally he has previous experience of working within sport development, outdoor activities, sport coaching in Wales, England, Spain, USA and Australia.

Matt has worked with SkillsActive to organise a consultation for the PESS framework in Wales, ensuring it was ‘fit for purpose’ and fundable in Wales. He also has extensive experience of working with awarding organisations such as 1st4sport and QIW to ensure qualifications needed within these industries are relevant, available and fundable for training providers and employers.
