Leonard Cheshire is taking part in the Kickstart Scheme for 16 to 24 years olds.
The scheme provides 6 months of pay to you. Payment of 25 hours per week (100%) at National Minimum Wage paid to you when you start your new job.

Support Workers
As a Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant with Leonard Cheshire you’ll provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable people, enabling them to live the life they choose. You’ll assist with daily tasks including personal care, medication and assistance at mealtimes, motivating and encouraging choice and participation.
Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant is desirable but not essential as we offer an excellent training and induction programme to get you fully trained in your new role!

Changing Futures and Working on Well Being Employability Support, Together as One, Can Do

Changing Futures
Changing Futures is an employability programme, delivered by Leonard Cheshire, to support individuals to access training, volunteering or employment The programme available in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend and provides one-to-one and group training regarding job brokerage, on the job and work related accredited training tailored to individual needs.
The programme also provides up to 20 hrs/ 20 weeks of paid employment with local employers.
We also work with employers to help to increase their understanding of disability and enable them to recruit and support disabled people and those with long term health conditions in work.
The project provides the opportunity to access:
• A professional CV
• Job searching support
• Help completing application forms
• Interview skills
• Work related skills
• IT skills
• Communication skills and confidence building
• Team work
To be eligible to join the programme, individuals must: be aged 18 years and older Not in education, employment or training (18 -24yr olds)
Be long term unemployed or economically inactive (25yrs +) and have a work limiting health condition
Live in the Swansea, Neath Port Talbot or Bridgend areas

Together as One
Together As One (TAO) supports you to take part in your favourite activities or learn new skills with people in your area. Whether you want to take part in activities, meet new friends, become a support worker, or volunteer with us, there are plenty of ways to make a real difference.

Can Do is a skills development programme for individuals aged 16-35 with a disability or long term health condition.
All projects focus on skill development and confidence building through fun and engaging activities designed around the interests of participants.
