The polly tunnel is one of the many facilities we have here at Summergil, alongside a hydro pool, large gym area, sensory corner and 18 acres of fields, forestry and hidden paths - the grounds are  also home to a river, large pond and the location of a wooden fort - as you can imagine this provides a beautiful scenic area for giving the young people we support the ability to explore, grow and learn.

Not only do we have an amazing environment for the young people to live, we also have opportunities like no other work place to support young people to engage in activities within the community. We regularly support young people to go on trips to the beach, the zoo and safari park, and local areas of natural beauty.

We offer support to young people with a diagnosis of Autism and associated needs. Our vision is o provide every young person a life of choice, freedom and independence. Based near Presteigne on 18 acres of beautiful scenery.

Here at Summergil house, we are not just an ordinary job. Many of the young people we support here are non-verbal, but they have plenty to say when given time and support to communicate in a manner which is effective for them. We are looking for passionate, empathetic and supportive individuals to become part of our vision to provide every young person a life of choice, freedom and independence.

This work can have it’s challenging moments; but it is also extremely rewarding – knowing you are making a real difference to someone’s life daily by supporting them to work towards independence – as well as the lives of their families and the communities in which they live; each-and-every day.

Support Worker

Support Worker Role.
Summergil is based near Presteigne.
Hourly Rate of up to £10.55.
Full Time Contract of 40.25 hours per week; typical shift pattern consists of a two week rolling rota working:
Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday.
Excellent annual leave entitlement.

Full two induction and training programme prior to starting within the role.
Ongoing training throughout the role.
Plenty of opportunities for progression.

Chloe Randall
Deputy Manager

Chloe started working as a support worker at Summergil House in June of 2019, she progressed to team leader in May 2020 before being promoted to deputy manager in February 2021.

Chloe is a dedicated member of the Summergil Management Team, working alongside Alwyn who is also Deputy Manager and Drew, Head of Care at Summergil House they have worked hard to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere were the staff feel encouraged to go above and beyond in order to promote the young people having the best experiences during the most important years of their lives - childhood.

Chloe is an example of the progression opportunities available both at Summergil House and within Orbis Education and Care, with dedication, dedication and determination.
