We have an exciting opportunity for Apprentice Groundwork Operatives to work across our sites in the North Wales and NorthWest England region. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about construction and have an interest in the groundworks and civils trade to join our team as an Apprentice Groundwork Operative.

As a Trade Apprentice with Read, your time will be split between working outdoors on site with an experienced team of tradesperson learning from their years of experience, and college-based study that will provide you with an industry recognised qualification.

Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Considering a future career as a Quantity Surveyor, and interested in studying whilst you work? Read are looking for an Apprentice/Undergraduate Quantity Surveyor. Read are seeking a hard-working, driven individual, who has an interest in the construction sector with the aspiration of working towards becoming a Quantity Surveyor.

Our Quantity Surveyors are responsible for the commercial (financial) management of construction projects. You’ll assist senior team members in managing these projects to ensure they are completed within budget, on time and with an emphasis on the high quality of construction and Client focus for which Read are recognised.

Read support our apprentices via training that combines on-the-job training and mentorship with formal academic study.

Candidates must have at least a GCSE Level 6 (Grade B ) in mathematics. Excellent verbal and written use of the English language is key and use of the Welsh language is beneficial.

Our apprentices must have (or be working towards having) a UK driving licence – placements will be provided both within our Head Office in Brymbo, Wrexham, but also across a variety of our construction sites which can be located through-out the North Wales and North-West England region.

Experienced Site Manager

Read are looking for highly skilled, experienced and enthusiastic individuals, with an ability to self-manage whilst working within a team. We consider all applicants with strong experience as a Site Manager in a live construction environment, and ideally the relevant qualifications. The ideal candidate will come from a main contracting background, with experience of managing variety of projects types, who is capable of putting their hands to any type of project including Design and Build.

Kasia supports the project teams in ensuring that Read meet the needs of the Three Pillars of Sustainability, with a focus on encouraging social and economic sustainability, promoting SME opportunities and maximising added & legacy value. She works with the project teams to ensure maximum visibility of opportunities for small and micro organisations to engage in bidding for work packages.

Kasia manages Read’s PR campaign to promote engagement through face-to-face and online methods, raising the profile of the business, ensuring maximum visibility of opportunities for small & micro organisations to engage in bidding for work packages and promoting industry best practice. As a CITB Construction Ambassador, Kasia regularly attends career promotion and schools events, promoting the construction industry to the future workforce.
